Seniors Supporting Seniors | June 12
This vibrant program is led, developed and facilitated by a volunteer community of 55+ or better team members who are passionate about using art as a tool to foster connection, conversation and wellness.
Our thoughtfully designed workshops are an outreach initiative offered both in-person and virtually to support creative aging and experiential learning for the 55+ community. Whether you are a new, blossoming or experienced artist, these workshops are great for all levels of experience. We believe in the power of community, peer guidance, and the confidence of rpoper tools and techniques to unlock the creativity within each of us.
Seniors Supporting Seniors is offered at local community centres, adult living centres, libraries and long-term care homes throughout Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge. Past workshops have explored materials and techniques in watercolour, gelli printmaking, decoupage and chigiri-e (torn paper) inspired art.
Interested in participating in future workshops? Want to get involved as a volunteer, or even host a workshop? Contact Monique (Wozny) Morrison, Education Coordinator at mwozny@kwag.on.ca.
Seniors Supporting Seniors is generously supported by the New Horizons for Seniors Program grant as well as the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery where the program calls home.
