About the Instructor

Meaghan Johnson

Meaghan Johnson is the Founder and Director of Queen Street Yoga and one of The Record's 40 under 40. She was first introduced to Yoga in 1992 and has had a dedicated practice for the last 8 years. She began teaching yoga in 2002 and completed a second teacher training with Hart Lazer in 2004, with whom she has been training with ever since. Meaghan also maintains a regular meditation practice and completed a month long silent retreat in the Tibetan tradition in India. She has the chance to study with teachers from all over the world, and regularly take classes from other local and Toronto teachers.

Meaghan offers a variety of programs from Bridges to Health (a day treatment program for women in recovery from alcohol and drug addition) to weekly meditation and yoga classes on a pay-what-you-can basis. She is a generous supporter of local charities and also teaches yoga and meditation in regional high schools in the hopes of introducing young people to these practices
